First Gen is a jazz rap band based out of Edmonton, Alberta. Fronted by Scott Snider aka Gr8Skawt, the band is a passion project built to push the first-generation immigrant experiences through improvisatory jams and lyrics celebrating where the members came from, their families, and the pop culture they gravitated to. Heavily influenced by the hip hop heavyweights MF DOOM, Nujabes, Dumbfoundead, Denzel Curry and the member's jazz backgrounds, every show is a voyage as the band aims to complete its mission of making waves from overseas.
