Test your IMAGINATION and street art installation skills.
Use this year’s festival theme Fall In Love With Kaleido to inspire your imaginative 3D lamppost installation along 118th Avenue to delight festival visitors young and old.
Up to 8 Creative Teams will have the opportunity to bring their fantastical 3D visions to the street by designing, creating, and installing their visions on eight (8) pre-assigned lampposts. A $300 artist fee will be given to each creative team, plus a $100 credit from our sponsors at Habitat ReStore for supplies https://www.hfh.org/restore/. Festival-goers will vote for a People's Choice Award by texting in their vote.
Each team will be given 24 hours to ‘Deck Out a Lamppost’ as inspired by the theme of Fall In Love with Kaleido for the enjoyment of over 40,000 eager festival-goers.
Creative teams will be made up of up to 3 artists/designers/builders.

Use this year’s Festival theme Fall In Love With Kaleido to inspire your imaginative 3D lamppost installation along 118th Avenue to delight festival visitors young and old.
Up to 8 Creative Teams will be selected by our jury, to bring their fantastical 3D visions to 118 Avenue by designing, creating and installing their heart-filling inspired visions on eight (8) pre-assigned lampposts on the Kaleido Family Arts Festival Site.
Each team will be given 24 hours to ‘Deck Out a Lamppost’ as inspired by the theme of Fill your Heart at Kaleido for the enjoyment of over 60,000 eager festival goers.
Creative Teams will be made up of up to 3 artists/designers/builders
Lamppost Installations must be created between the 24 hour period of 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 16th to 11:00 AM Sunday, September 17th.
Installations should be constructed out of materials that do not pose any danger to artists or audience. (Example- heavy objects that could fall from the top of the installation)
Each Creative Team will be provided with a $300 artist fee, plus a $100 credit from our sponsors at Habitat ReStore (link) for supplies (please provide receipts for expense reimbursement).
Components may be created in advance, but anything that can be created during the 24 hour period (embellishments, etc.) must be done on site. (Example – papier maché components can be created in advance, but must be painted and assembled on site)
Artists must commit to spending a minimum of 5 hours working on the piece on site.
WE WANT FESTIVAL-GOERS TO SEE YOU AT WORK!
If any damage to a lamp post site occurs, the artist team will be billed.
Festival-goers will select the Peoples Choice winner through 'Text to Vote' by Sunday, September 17th at 11AM, followed by the award ceremony soon after. The peoples decision will be final.
Installations must be dismantled by the artist(s) the evening of Sunday, September 17th, after the festival closes (6pm).
Lamppost dimensions & images will be available upon request.
