Farhad is an Edmonton-based composer and santur (Persian dulcimer) player, originally from Iran. His 2017 debut album “Sleeping in Sorrow” was shortlisted for the Edmonton Music Prize in 2017, along with nominations for World Artist of the Year at the 2018 Western Canadian Music Awards and World Music Recording of the Year at the 2018 Edmonton Music Awards. Rooted in Iranian classical music, Farhad expands the genre merging new textures of percussion with Western cello, violin, and vocal to create a modern mélange of East and West. In 2025, he received a Canada Council grant to record his third album, “The Leopards Who Have Run with Me”, based on a Persian book of short stories under the same title, in which the ensemble engages in a musical story-telling experience written for santur, string quartet, and percussion. The album contains about an hour and a half of original music and is set to be released in 2026. Some of these pieces have premiered at the Pacific Contact 2025 and the Mundial Montreal 2025 showcases with great reception.

Terry McDade, with a singular style, is taking the Concert Harp to a new and vibrant place.......including Pop & Jazz favorites! Terry, along with The McDades, has performed with the ESO, many Royal Visits & for various Lieutenant Governors of Alberta . He has performed through out Canada, the U.S & in China and has recorded four critically acclaimed CDs to date; Harpe Danse, Midwinter, Noel and 2011’s Winter Rose. Terry is also featured on recordings by his children with their Juno Award winning group, The McDades.

Sean Bougie

Sean Bougie is an Indigenous (Montreal Lake Cree Nation) classical guitarist from Edmonton, Alberta who has been playing for over 20 years. This long history with the instrument has allowed Sean to curate an interesting collection of classical guitar repertoire to perform at various festivals, private events, and community gatherings around Western Canada. Sean's performances make jaws drop, hearts flutter, and minds wander. His music inspires a sense of nostalgia and captivates the listener's soul. Sit back and relax to the soothing sounds of the classical guitar. --- After performing in a rock band named Witherfire, Sean completed his Bachelor's of Music: Individualised at the University of Saskatchewan in 2022, where he discovered his ability in classical guitar. He is currently in his final year as a graduate student at the University of Saskatchewan where he is writing a Master of Arts: Musicology thesis. Sean has taught music for over ten years, and has educated and inspired hundreds of students in the discipline of guitar. Currently, Sean is teaching at Dominelli's School of Music. He has played multiple events and festivals around Western Canada including the Saskatoon Fringe Festival, the Haywire Farm Festival, and the Sasktel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival. Sean was nominated twice for the Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Association Awards and once for the Saskatchewan Music Awards. In 2025, he was awarded both Best Instrumental or Ambient Artist for the Saskatchewan Music Awards and Instrumentalist of the Year for the Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Association Awards.

Behrang Nikaeen and Hozan Hashempour

Behrang Nikaeen is an Iranian musician and ethnomusicologist based in Edmonton. His musical practice focuses on West Asian musical traditions, especially Iranian, Kurdish, Azerbaijani, and Turkish music. He plays several long-necked lutes and frame drums, and his work often explores improvisation, intercultural collaboration, and music as a way of creating connection. He recently completed his PhD in Ethnomusicology at the University of Alberta, and his current work brings together performance, research, community music-making, disability, accessibility, and music for well-being. hozan hashempour is a Kurdish musician, sound designer, and ethnomusicologist based in Edmonton. They hold a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Persian traditional music performance, and are currently a PhD candidate in ethnomusicology at the University of Alberta. hozan is trained in tar and setar, and before moving to Canada in 2021, they taught music at several music institutes in Iran for more than a decade. Since arriving in Edmonton, hozan has performed Persian music collaborating with other local Persian musicians, and has participated in multidisciplinary collaborations involving music, performance, and video.

Erin Dunn is an emerging artist in Edmonton, Alberta, captivating audiences with her original songs and dynamic vocals. Her music is at the same time deeply personal and highly relatable, with melodies that draw the listener in like a welcome guest. Her lyrics tell compelling stories of love, loss, vulnerability, and self-discovery. Pulling on her vast array of influences including Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, and Billie Holiday, Erin has integrated a sound that is uniquely her own. Her melodies fill in the blanks with emotions that might have otherwise escaped. Each song is one-of-a-kind, and yet every performance by this all-Alberta songstress is a tapestry that is perfectly woven together. Erin released her debut single in June 2026, available now on all streaming platforms.
