Max Mendez is a renowned singer, musician and cultural manager born in El Salvador and now based in Edmonton, he has participated in multiple record productions and cultural awards throughout his 30-year artistic career, in 2017 he was named Musical Ambassador in his country and currently works as one of the vocalists of the tropical rhythms band Esquina Latina. He is the producer and manager of the band Friguey from El Salvador.

John Calverley (BMus.) is a freelance violinist, composer, improviser, session musician and instructor. As music director for Vinok Worldance, he performs diverse styles of traditional music from various cultures. He has also competed in Canadian old-time fiddling competitions at the national level. John enjoys exploring improvisational styles and is the founding member of the gypsy-jazz group, the Felt Hat String Band. John has performed with Alfie Zappacosta, Crystal Plamondon, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Strathcona String Quartet, Opera Nuova, and many other pop, rock and folk acts. www.johncalverley.com

Bree Harris Song and Hand Drum

A Cree/Nakota artist, she is from the Treaty 6 territory in Thunderchild First Nation. She is a facilitator and addictions worker, she also walks a ceremonial road and is so grateful for the amazing mentors and teachers that have crossed her path. She is a mother of 6 and she has went above and beyond to get educated, to provide a healthy sober life for her and her children. They travel as a family to many different First Nation communities to attend pow wows, cultural gatherings and to help in ceremony.

Bobbi-Jo Star

Meet Bobbi-Jo Starr (Kisikaw Iskwew – Daylight Woman) An Indigenous singer-songwriter from Peerless Trout First Nation (Treaty 8 Territory, Northern Alberta) Bobbi-Jo Starr is a solo artist who incorporates storytelling and indigenous teachings into her performance and music. From learning guitar at age 12 with her father’s songbook, to overcoming addiction and finding purpose through land-based teachings and water protection. Bobbi-Jo's music highlights her commitment to sobriety, water protection, and encourages others to live the vision!

Terry McDade, with a singular style, is taking the Concert Harp to a new and vibrant place.......including Pop & Jazz favorites! Terry, along with The McDades, has performed with the ESO, many Royal Visits & for various Lieutenant Governors of Alberta . He has performed through out Canada, the U.S & in China and has recorded four critically acclaimed CDs to date; Harpe Danse, Midwinter, Noel and 2011’s Winter Rose. Terry is also featured on recordings by his children with their Juno Award winning group, The McDades.

Zack grew up in Sherwood Park, playing (and practicing!) piano since the age of 5. Classically trained in Royal Conservatory, he often participated in the Sherwood Park music festivals and was an active leader in his high school band program. Currently, he is studying jazz at MacEwan University as a composition major, and enjoys listening to a wide variety of genres from jazz and classical all the way to J-rock and alternative. When not studying, Zack teaches at the Sherwood Park School of Music in hopes to develop his student’s skills so they can learn the joy of music!

Eric Yaremko is a Ukrainian-Canadian musician from Edmonton Alberta. A pianist of 21 years with a background in classical training, he is also a singer and guitar player, a songwriter, performer, and co-writer. His sound oscillates across many genres including folk, pop, classical, traditional Irish, Ukrainian pop and R&B. He has been performing around Edmonton for 8 years and has performed in countries including Ireland, Norway and the United States.
