Next Layer 3D Printing

We are a fun and quirky, growing family based in Edmonton, Alberta. We hyperfixated too hard, and suddenly we found ourselves with 18 active printers in our basement, popup markets every weekend, a growing fan base within the community, and... where did this baby come from?!

Our two children LOVE testing our newest designed prints and help make the best content for our social media. We have been printing for two years and we STILL love it. How rare is it for a neurodiverse couple to find something they BOTH love without getting distracted? Yeah, we might be the first.

Mars Art

Marissa Chapman is an Italian-Canadian, female artist. She was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. With a colourful history of dance, music, and fine arts, Marissa finds herself expressing her emotions through these many forms of art. Her artistic practice began when she was very young and the passion began to grow tremendously. Well trained in the Fine Arts, she finished her education in Vancouver at Emily Carr University receiving her Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree. Over the years, she has been exposed to a diverse spectrum of art making. Her artworks are full of expression, rich colors, and tiny details. Being both visually and conceptually involved in the works, she keeps a close connection to her works, drawing from personal experiences, emotions, and vivid dreams. When creating art, Marissa expresses her own personal conflicts and things that bring pleasure to the soul into the pieces. Her favoured mediums to work with are acrylic, chalk pastel, conté and mixed media. She has a wide variety of styles and moves amongst them quite fluently. Marissa’s works usually consist of bright colors and extreme attention to detail. She experiments with textures and layering, creating images which are interesting from both a fair distance and inches away from the viewer. Pulling ideas from her surroundings, in both the physical and digital world, Marissa collages her ideas together creating a “conceptual reality”.

Lil Knits

Hi! My name is Molly and I am the hands and heart behind LiL Knits.

I was inspired to start knitting when my kids were little. I wanted beautiful pieces that were warm, fun, and machine washable! With knitting, I discovered a passion and curiosity. I love to create, love to see people enjoying pieces I made, and love trying new variations or modifications. Over the years, I started writing my own patterns and really finding my style of work.

Kaleido Family Arts Festival 2025 - 20th Anniversary!

Get ready to have your hearts a-glowin’!
September 5–7, 2025

Arts on the Ave and Kaleido are excited to present the 20th anniversary of the Kaleido Family Arts Festival—and it’s going to be our brightest, boldest year yet!

Kaleido is a wildly joyful, wonderfully wacky, radically open celebration of the arts in the heart of the Alberta Avenue Arts District. This year’s theme is hearts a-glowin’, and we’re lighting up the streets with music, theatre, dance, zany street performances, mouthwatering eats, vibrant artisans, pop-up galleries, and magical moments.

From alleys to rooftops, from parks to pavement, Kaleido is taking over Alberta Avenue from 90-95 Street with creativity everywhere. Come dance, play, and celebrate 20 years of art, love, and community with us!
