Saturday, September 14th | Noon - 8:00 pm

This year at Kaleido, hearts are bursting with creativity as hands are filled with new art supplies.

Visit the ART SUPPLY SWAP TENT to trade your unused art supplies for new (or new-to-you) supplies. One artist's unused canvas is another artist's masterpiece waiting to emerge!

All trade-ins must be in good, usable condition (ie. no expired paints). Some examples include brushes, acrylic or oil paints/mediums, watercolours, drawing supplies, art paper/sketchbooks, canvasses/panels, frames, sculpting supplies, printmaking ink/rollers, collage ephemera.

Everyone is welcome to stop by the tent to swap or donate items any time between NOON - 8pm on Saturday Sept 14th. One day only!

Brought to you by Bleeding Heart Art Space. Bleeding Heart has been loving artists and building creative community on Alberta Avenue since 2012. Bleedingheartart.space

CanPlay Arts Collective Presents "The Festivus King" and "The Wandering Minstrel"

Screen Shot 2019-09-04 at 12.36.29 AM.png

Saturday, September 14th @ 2:15 pm
Family Fun Zone | 9210 - 118 Ave (Behind “The Hall”)

The Wandering Minstrel

This character roams around, serenading passersby with improvised lyrics that directly relate to whatever they may be doing at the time. These songs always have rhyming lines and have the musical accompaniment of a live played merlin. Wherever the minstrel goes, he always leaves smiles and giggles in his wake.

The Festivus King

An attempt at making a more commanding, yet still fun presence, this roving character has two long red carpets that his holy feet are unable to leave. Using his royal prestige, The Festivus King (kindly) commands anyone near him to take a carpet from behind him and place it in front of him so that he may cross the festival grounds.

It is common for folks to decide to help, hinder or purely protest against the monarchy. Any and all forms of interaction are welcomed!

Jeon’s TKD demonstration team has done many voluntary performances since 2013. Their taekwondo performance pairs the technical kicking and traditional taekwondo movements with powerful beat music.
