Read Fenton and his Happy Hep Cats are a Swing Dance Band from Edmonton AB that specialize in music from the 20s and 30s. They are an energetic and fun band started by dancers who wanted to get into the music that they love. The idea for Read Fenton and his Happy Hep Cats was formed in August 2012 when on a whim Read made a Facebook event to look into the interest of forming a band from members of the swing dance community. 13 people showed up at his small townhouse and it was decided the band would officially form.
