Dallas Arcand is an accomplished singer, flutist, recording artist, and an in-demand motivational speaker facilitating workshops for Aboriginal people of all ages, speaking on topics ranging from self-awareness to personal motivation. Dallas has worked with young artists on creative writing, personal recording, music, and dance.

Alberta Qipao & Dance Society

Saturday 1:30 pm – 1:45 pm | Main Stage (119 Ave & 93 St in the Grassy Field)

Alberta Qipao & Dance society was founded in 2018 . As a non-profit organization, we have trained over 200 individuals in the art of Qipao performance. We have participated in many major events across Edmonton including the K-Days Parades, Edmonton Heritage Festival, Chinese Spring Festival Celebrations, Kaleido festival. We have also performed at a seniors centre in Edmonton, as well as taken part in many charitable Christmas events. Furthermore, we have appeared as guests in several public school performances. In the 2019 Chinese New Year Gala, we were congratulated by Lu Xu, the consul general of the PRC in Calgary, and in October of that year, we received top prize at the Vancouver Charity Qipao festival. As the very first Qipao society in Edmonton, our members come from a wide array of professions including doctors, teachers, accountants, engineers, radio hosts and more. We are a group of enthusiastic ladies who delight in spreading joy to others through our wonderful performances.

Ballet Edmonton

Ballet Edmonton is a contemporary dance ensemble under the artistic direction of Canadian choreographer Kirsten Wicklund. We commission new work from a range of Canadian and international choreographic voices each season to present to the community in Edmonton and across Canada, and each seasonal production is a mixed program format.

We exist to inspire all Albertans through the evolution of ballet told through a contemporary lens and offer accessible ticket pricing so the whole community can join us. Our mainstage season takes place at the beautiful Triffo Theatre in downtown Edmonton inside Allard Hall at MacEwan University.

This innovative company has a healthy repertoire of works and is also available for commissioned projects to suit any event. Boasting an incredibly athletic and hardworking cast, Viva Dance has performed in over 200 shows since 2012.

Join us for a Bluegrass Pancake Breakfast with The Bix Mix Boys preceded by Alfie & Byron Myhre

The Bix Mix Boys are one of Canada's most talented bluegrass bands. They focus on the highest quality of music, both vocally and instrumentally. While keeping the tradition of bluegrass alive, they want to bring their unique, Canadian interpretation to the genre and put on an entertaining stage show. They've entrenched themselves into western Canada’s bluegrass scene and consider themselves ambassadors of the music. In addition to live performances, they teach a Bluegrass 101 workshop every Wednesday. Jim Storey and Darcy Whiteside host “Prairie Pickin’” on CJSR radio and Darcy also hosts the CKUA Bluegrass Hour Sunday afternoons.

Alfie and Byron Myhre - Bluegrass Pancake Breakfast

Join us for a Bluegrass Pancake Breakfast with Alfie & Byron Myhre followed by The Bix Mix Boys

Alfie Myhre is an award winning fiddle player and multi-instrumentalist who has competed and performed all over the world. He has operated Myhres Music which is on 118 Avenue since 1967. Alfie is accompanied by his son Byron Myhre who also is a well known musician in these parts. Byron and his son now operate Myhre’s Music so after the festival go there and say hello and they might play you a tune!
