Since their inception 41 years ago, the Edmonton Winds’ mission statement has always been “Performing the best in wind band literature.” They are dedicated to promoting the wind band as a serious art medium, through the performance of challenging, high-quality repertoire.

Carter & the Capitals are a high energy, five piece funk-pop group based out of Edmonton, Alberta. The band is currently an active member of Alberta’s vibrant and growing music scene. Known for their signature, hard driving sound, soulful vocals and catchy instrumental riffs, the Capitals fuse the most danceable elements of the pop and funk genres. The Capitals’ original material brings to mind artists such as Prince, James Brown, and Parliament Funkadelic.

Autumn is a welcoming time for communities to share a richness of their heritage and traditions. Join a cultural celebration including pow wow, artisans, music and dance performances of the Indigenous, Inuit and Métis peoples. There will be traditional crafts for sale as well as craft workshops and demonstrations. (Bannock tasting, Métis finger weaving, Cree language lessons, and flint & steel firemaking).
