Captain Tractor - Sunday Afternoon Headliner

Sunday • 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm | Main Stage (119 Ave & 93 St)

Did you know?: Captain Tractor band members performed at the very first Kaleido!

Captain Tractor has been a mainstay of Canada’s folk-rock scene since 1993, fusing Celtic instrumentation, punk roots, and Prairie grit into a sound that's unmistakably their own. Based in Edmonton, the band made waves with their breakout album East of Edson and the radio success of “Up the Hill,” followed by a long and winding road of studio albums, music videos, global touring, and loyal fans across continents. Their songs mix humour and heart, drawing from the everyday and the epic with equal ease. Over the years, their take on “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate” has taken on a life of its own, sung in stadiums, at weddings, and in living rooms throughout western Canada. But Captain Tractor has never been about just one song. With a deep catalogue, a strong connection to their fans, and a passion for performance, the band continues to evolve while staying true to their roots. In 2025, they mark 30 years of East of Edson with a refreshed version that reminds us why Captain Tractor still matters—and why the party isn’t over yet."
