Andrea Nixon, the Edmonton-based singer/songwriter known for her fearless storytelling and signature vocals, returns with Barbed Wire Dreams, the long-anticipated follow-up to her acclaimed debut Diary of a Housewife. Collaborating once again with Bobby Cameron and recorded at Edmonton’s Dept. 9 Studio, the record features world-class musicians and has already gained support from stations like CKUA, CFCW, and CFWE. Building on the success of singles such as “Outskirts,” “Blind Spot,” and the swampy, emotionally charged “Earthquake,” Andrea continues to weave songs that balance heartache, resilience, and social reflection. With past performances at CCMA and Canadian Music Week showcases, Rogers Hometown Hockey, and ACMA Fan Fest, she carries forward the tradition of trailblazing voices like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton while carving out her own space as an artist who uses music to inspire connection and change.
