Marissa K is a vibrant, imaginative singer-songwriter based in Edmonton, Alberta. As a fan of escapism, Marissa strives to transport her listeners through her songs into a unique, colourful world. She focuses her songwriting on storytelling, as her inspiration comes from her background in performing in dance and theatre. Her music evokes the vitality and nostalgia of songwriters such as Vanessa Carlton and Sara Bareilles, but has a distinctive, theatrical writing style that is all her own.

Multidisciplinary artist who started his circus training with the Guinean troupe Circus Baobab, Yamoussa Bangoura began his professional career joining the African and European tour of the show ""La légende du singe tambourinaire."" After being spotted in Spain during one of the tours of the Cirque Éloize, he was recruited to be one of the creators and acrobats of the world tour of the show Nomade, from 2002 to 2007. Then, he joined in 2010 the equestrian company Cavalia for the creation of the show Odysséo and toured with them until 2012 before he could now focus on the projects of his own company Productions Kalabanté.

Edmonton Winds

Since our inception 50 years ago, our mission has always been “Performing the best in wind band literature.” The Edmonton Winds are dedicated to promoting wind band as a serious art medium through the performance of challenging, high-quality repertoire. We maintain a high standard of excellence in performing, a positive experience for our musicians, and aim to support the aspirations of young music students. We are one of Edmonton’s most important community resources in the field of music education and a strong Canadian ambassador abroad. The Winds is one of the few ensembles to be invited to perform twice at the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE); first in 2015 and then 2022. In 2026 we released our third studio album “Close To Home” in partnership with Bent River Records, featuring original commissioned music and music from local composers. Our membership is made up of accomplished musicians from all walks of life, including teachers, professional composers, freelance musicians, university professors, advanced university students, and business professionals. We have been featured throughout Alberta at music conventions, festivals, and conferences and were awarded a City of Edmonton Citation Award in 2017 for involvement in the Edmonton music community.

C-Jam Big Band

C-Jam Big Band is an 18 piece ensemble that has been performing in and around Edmonton for the past 30 years, recreating the music of great artists such as Glenn Miller and Count Basie. Duke Ellington’s “C-Jam Blues” was the inspiration for the band’s name. Events such as Swing ‘n Skate at City Hall, Johann Strauss Ball, dance clubs and private functions keep this group busy throughout the year. The mission of the band is to provide an opportunity for local musicians to entertain and support the thriving dance community in Edmonton. C-Jam is excited to return to Kaleido this year.

Jared Sowan, a multi-talented First Nations composer and performer, hails from the Swan River First Nation in Northern Alberta. He is an award-winning instrumentalist who has a powerful voice which is coupled with a sense of humour that will entertain and delight all audiences. His soulful tone brings to mind the old blues and gospel era of yester-year while his music has an edgy raw groove that sits in the pocket. You may want to tap your toe and bop your head or just dance the night away. No matter what age you are or what style of music you enjoy, you will find that you will appreciate and enjoy the entertainment he provides. Jared is an accomplished pianist, guitar player, bass player and drummer. He combines his experience and versatility to give you an exceptional evening of entertainment and music.

Hello I’m Nahiyow from the mountain Cree camp Alberta, also from Rocky boy Montana I grew up in the mountains where I learned and practiced my culture. This was how we learned to survived off the land. Our camp was located in the foothills when we first moved off reservation my mother, grandmother and grandpa lived in canvas tents with wood stoves as it provided us with heat and a source to cook food and heat up water. we didn't and still don’t have indoor plumbing, no indoor washroom, no taps to wash our hands freely. we got our water from the springs that cane fresh from the mountains. Trees for our fire, fire for our cooking and wild meats like moose, deer, elk and fish was our main foods sources. There was also a variety of fresh berries we would harvest for a little sweet snacks.

Peter Nolan

Peter Nolan is an acoustic blues player and singer. Strains of Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Mississippi Fred Mac Dowell, and others in that vein are clearly evident in his playing. Having opportunities to play and learn from folks like Mary Flower and Ken Hamm have allowed Peter to carry forth the tradition of playing delta blues finger picking and slide. Coming to the party late, at age 50, has not hindered the process of building a name as an independent musician. Prior to the pandemic, Peter was booked to play The Pembina River Nights Festival and has played alongside well known artists such as Eric Bibb, Guy Davis, and Michael Jerome Brown. Furthermore, Peter has a growing fanbase in Cuenca, Equador where he and his wife venture to for a couple months every year.
